Hello,
My name is Michelle Roseman (she/her/hers). I am Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I offer compassionate and candid counseling and psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families of adults, ages 18 and up. I practice from an anti-racist, anti-diet culture, LGBTQIA+ affirming, inclusive, HAES perspective.
I believe that finding balance in life is essential to living in joy. I also believe that finding balance is a skill that can be learned and practiced. I use my innate curiosity and passion to support humans in their endeavors to find wellness, meaning, connection, and balance.
I specialize in the treatment of eating disorders, ADHD and Autism in adults, personality disorders, grief and loss, substance use disorders, complex attachment and relational challenges, depression, OCD and anxiety disorders, body image concerns, trauma, and complex post traumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD). Additionally, I value opportunities to support other clinicians and helping professionals.
I utilize a humanistic lens and eclectic approach that centers the individual needs of my clients, above all. I am practiced in traditional insight and support driven psychotherapy, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing (MI), modified family-based therapy (FBT), eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), emotion focused therapy (EFT), schema therapy, radically open dialectical therapy (RODBT), narrative therapy, 12-step therapies, and cognitive behavior therapy (CBT).
I am not a Durham native, but I believe myself to be a Durham-ite. I've spent nearly 25 years in the Triangle. I deeply admire the fearless nature of Durham's residents and the vibrancy of our community.
I returned to my education late in life and completed my Bachelors in Social Work and my Masters in Social Work at North Carolina Central University. Go Eagles! For the past 7 plus years, I've had the opportunity to support adults diagnosed with eating disorders, and co-occurring illnesses, at the inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient levels of care.
When not at work, I enjoy spending time with family and loved ones, watching the latest Netflix series, reading, hiking, soaking up sunshine, and taking naps.
